The definition of light in architecture is not a key issue, but we should always keep in mind that light is what defines the world around us, during the day and during the night. Light changes the perception of forms that touch and the perceptions of spaces in which those forms are (Portela, 2007). The connection between architecture and light is inseparable; sometimes it happens consciously, and sometimes not. Depending on how it is used, light can transform the spatial context, creating a pleasant or unpleasant, exalted or mystical feeling, feelings of anxiety or width, or simply highlighting aspects of space that we are interested in.
